The TOURAL project proudly took part in the celebration of Europe Day 2025, held on May 9, 2025, at Petra Zoranić Square in Zadar. The event was organized by the Zadar County Development Agency ZADRA NOVA, as part of the work of the EUROPE DIRECT Zadar center, and was dedicated to highlighting vocational skills and youth engagement.
This year’s Europe Day celebration brought together a vibrant mix of educational demonstrations, project showcases, and interactive workshops, attracting more than 1,000 visitors from the local community. The event featured the presence of high-profile guests including Božidar Longin, Prefect of Zadar County, Marina Dujmović Vuković, Director of ZADRA NOVA, and school principals from institutions across the region.
During the event, several EU-funded initiatives implemented by ZADRA NOVA were presented, including APOLLO, RECIRCLE, FutureECOS, BLUESLINKS, and of course, TOURAL — a flagship project dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and local cultural assets through innovative and environmentally conscious strategies.
As part of the celebration, EUROPE DIRECT Zadar distributed informative publications and commemorative gifts to visitors, enhancing public awareness of EU values, programs, and opportunities. The event also featured strong involvement from Zadar’s vocational schools, whose students demonstrated skills in health, hospitality, agriculture, STEM, and applied arts:
- Medical students performed live ER demonstrations and health checks.
- Hospitality students offered refreshments with sweet and savory delicacies.
- Agricultural and veterinary students presented flower-based crafts and suture techniques.
- Art and design students held a fashion show inspired by Croatian tradition and Dalmatian jewelry.
- STEM students showcased robotics, drone control, smart vehicles, and mechanical systems.
The TOURAL project was presented among these innovative displays, reinforcing its focus on integrating cultural heritage and vocational development into sustainable tourism practices. Environmentally friendly promotional materials were once again part of the outreach effort, including brochures and branded tokens that provided citizens with useful information and a tangible connection to the project’s mission.
The event was widely promoted through the official ZADRA NOVA website, direct invitations, local media, and social networks, and received broad media coverage following its successful execution.
By participating in Europe Day 2025, TOURAL reaffirmed its commitment to engaging communities, supporting youth empowerment, and contributing to the European vision of inclusive, green, and culturally rooted regional development.
