TOURAL at the European Maritime Day 2025

TOURAL was participated in the European Maritime Day (EMD) 2025, held from May 21st to 23rd in Cork, Ireland. Organized by the European Commission, in partnership with Cork City Council and the Irish Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, EMD is Europe’s flagship annual event that brings together the maritime community to collaborate, share ideas, and advance the sustainable blue economy.

This year’s event welcomed over 1,285 participants, including professionals from policy, industry, academia, civil society, and EU-funded projects. It served as an ideal platform for TOURAL to connect with key stakeholders and showcase its innovative approach to promoting responsible tourism through the preservation and interpretation of Europe’s underwater cultural heritage.

Represented by ATLANTIS Consulting at Stand 53, TOURAL engaged with visitors through interactive materials, immersive digital content, and live demonstrations.. Visitors learned how TOURAL enables local communities and tourism operators to unlock the value of submerged heritage sites while preserving their ecological and cultural integrity.

The primary objective of the project’s participation in the European Maritime Day 2024 was to enhance its visibility and promote the creation of a vibrant, multi-stakeholder TOURAL community, fostering collaboration among tourism operators, cultural institutions, local authorities, and citizens.
