On August 5, 2025, the TOURAL Project was presented during the Youth Council of the Kutsurub Community Workshop, which took place at the House of Culture in Kutsurub Community. The event brought together youth, community representatives, and civil society organizations to discuss pressing issues of local development and youth engagement.
The workshop was led by NGO “Kinburn”, and TOURAL partner Mykola Hrubyi from the National Ecological Centre of Ukraine (NECU) actively contributed to the discussions. Within the broader session on youth issues and waste recycling, the TOURAL Project was highlighted as an important initiative to inspire innovative ideas for sustainable tourism development in the region.
Participants explored new approaches to territorial development, preservation of local identity, and youth involvement in shaping the modern tourism profile of the Mykolaiv region. Reflecting on the challenges faced by local communities, Mykola Hrubyi highlighted in his presentation the urgent need to rethink tourism in war-affected areas, noting that nearly 90% of recreational sites in the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities remain inaccessible. Despite these challenges, he underlined the unique historical, natural, and cultural heritage of the Mykolaiv region and emphasized that the TOURAL Project can generate fresh ideas for tourism development even under such difficult circumstances.
The workshop emphasized the importance of active youth participation in implementing new initiatives and ensuring their long-term impact. The exchange of ideas and commitment shown during the meeting highlighted the potential for communities to rebuild and adapt through creative and inclusive solutions.
