TOURAL was presented by Stavros Kalognomos from the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) during the Black Sea Stakeholder Conference 2025, held on 28 October 2025 in the historic Casino of Constanța, Romania. The event was organized by the Ukrainian CMA Coordination and brought together a large community of actors dedicated to advancing a sustainable and resilient blue economy in the Black Sea region.
The Conference is an annual reference point for the Black Sea maritime and blue economy community. Stakeholders from across the quadruple helix, academia and research institutions, the private sector (including start-ups and entrepreneurs), government and public administration at local, national, EU and regional levels, as well as civil society organizations, came together to share knowledge, exchange best practices, foster collaboration, and engage in discussions on strengthening a sustainable and resilient blue economy in the Black Sea.
Aligned with the strategic goals of the Common Maritime Agenda and the 2025 priorities set by Ukraine’s National Coordinator, the event focused on sharing best practices, gaining insights into the latest innovative advancements, learning from practical experiences in implementing EU marine directives, exploring funding opportunities, and creating partnerships leading to successful project ideas.
During the session “Black Sea Today and Tomorrow: Ocean Literacy for Marine Ecosystems Resilience,” Stavros Kalognomos presented the TOURAL project and its mission.
The Conference fostered dynamic dialogue, interactive sessions, and cross-sector networking, bringing together more than 100 participants from Black Sea CMA countries and beyond.
